It is possible to open ports and foward ports in the cliq? What I'm trying to do is tether my 3g to the ps3 wich I already did, I can get in the market and everything but in cod mw2 my nat its strict and I read that I need to open a few ports wich would be easy on the router but I don't know if its possible in the ps3, I will be far from home for a while without internet any help would be appreciated
uh... most ports should be open. when in doubt use ... ibeliee 5544 or 5554 (i cant remember) its the adb port, and its always open. its what i used for AnDev Framework.
Yea but it seems that the ones I need are closed cause I can't connect to others and the nat type in the game is strict and that means I need to open a specific port there isn't an app or a adb command to do such a thing?
if i could just change my nat from strict to open i think that would just do the work any ideas?
well, if your planning on using said ports while connected via wifi, you can DMZ (demilitarize) your phone via your router. Android devices are rarely suceptible to "-ware" via open ports. usually just apps you install. (DMZ basically opens every port on the device you tell it to [via router])
someone said i can change it in the android phone itself looking where cant find it but probably is there
it seems that im not the only one trying to do this i found so far that neither easy tether or pdanet change this i found someone that said that he did it and was about to put a video on youtube that was a few month ago no video and someone said something about ip mapping and i think that there is no way to change it through the phone i didnt find anything and i look really hard hmm this will be a great thing if i come across with an answer, i will be sure to post a guide on how to if i found an answer for this
Hmm... If you can redirect the port used try:5228 TCP/UDP (used for market)5554-6000 TCP/UDP (used for ADB)But other than that, it would be thru the governing application, not the phone itself.Actually, your best bet would be going thru HTTP/HTTPS ports:80 TCP/UDP8080 TCP/UDPThose are DEFINATLY Open, otherwise tether wouldnt work. However, its probably not the ports your having the issue with. I highly doubt the tether application will restrict you from using said port(s) or even closing ports on the outbound transmission.
Thanx for your help opencliq I found out that its not the phone but the app that have to have that option and it seems that pdanet allow atleast some connections and I get a lot more speed not sure why but with pdanet I'm getting 4 to 5mb down and .65mb up
hmm just different software, better connection
hay. i came across a delima, i know its not that related but i am trying to run a minecraft server and no one can connect because my port is not forwarded correctly but (here`s the catch) i am using someone else s wifi connection and i have pdanet on my android optimus s black LS670, and i have mysql and mclawl and WOM installed and running correctly on my phone (took some research) but for some odd ass reason my 3g WILL NOT WORK. i even reset my phone to factory settings using root recovery and it still wont work so right now im tethering using pdanet and somehow i would like to (AT LEAST) find a currently open port on theyre system or open one if i can, if anyone can help in any way i will be the happiest person within 6 feet of me :) lol jk but please help im in one hell of a pickle. if you could help please contact me at one of my emails.
If you are using pdanet as the internet source for the server it wont work since pdanet block the ports needed for others to connect, i learn that the hard way. Barnacle is the only one that i seen that let you play with ports try that one
Ok so I found a solution. Upgrade to pdanet 3.02 then go to manage networks after you have installed pdanet and havevit connected right click pdanet in networks go to properties go to sharing click the drop arrowvtell it lan then hit settings and you will see some little boxes to check that says demonware port mapping check all of them then u got an open nat on black ops. Worked for me good luck.
Did you have to use an ethernet cable though, to run from your computer to your game console? I tried for five hours last night trying everyway possible to do it. I can tether my phone-Samsung Galaxy S II- but I get a "Strict" NAT type with Modern Warefare 3. So I was just wondering if you used an ethernet cable to bridge your connection?
Hi @sofaires, I'm also getting the same NAT Strict message on my Xbox 360. And I'm using a tethered Lenovo S560 foR connecting to a carrier in my country.I'm curious about you having found the answer yet? 'Coz even I can do all sort of things like playing some games online, torrenting on my PC, but there are still some online games that won't do the handshaking too well, and also only got around 3 Mbps with my HSDPA+ connection.
